Dymag Success Story

Success stories always inspire people for new achievements and stimulate those who strive for the best results. The history of development of the British company Dymag is a continuous success. In this article we are overviewing Dymag’s incredible story.

Beginnings at Motosport

Dymag was started 42 years ago by an engineer Max Boxstrom. The company originally produced motorcycle wheels for racing. The startup’s developers began from invention the world’s first three spoke magnesium motorsport wheels, which made Dymag well-known among motoriders.

The legendary champions we remember, such as Eddie Lawson, David Jeffries, Steve Hislop, Alain Prost, Ayrton Senna, Nigel Mansell and others, recorded multiple victories in professional bike racings on Dymag magnesium and carbon discs.

The AMA Superbike Championship in 1981 and 1982, the Motogp Championship in 1984, Formula One, Indycar, Le Mans 24hr race and Paris Dakar rally, Senior and Superbike races in 1990s were supported by exclusive products of Boxstrom’s company. These events brought it glory and transferred to the caste of expensive producers.

Progress in Automarket

Since 2004 Dymag has been producing not only high-quality wheels for motorcycles but also supplying automobile market with elite ultra-light but heavy-duty car discs, which are not only thoroughly thought, functional and made with the latest technological progress, but they also play an image-creating role.

At first, the company worked for supercars manufacturers. Dymag commercial carbon composite auto wheels were highly appreciated and used by:

  • Aston Martin
  • Porsche
  • Ferrari
  • BMW
  • Koenisegg
  • Nissan.

Contemporary History

Of course, the black strip sometimes passes both in the life of an individual, and the whole enterprise. In 2010 Dymag was on the verge of oblivion. Luckily, British businessman Christopher Shelley who took over the company rescued it by launching the efficient  marketing strategy. He decided to focus on producing unique carbon fibre motorcycle wheels. After they sponsored World Superbike champion and British Superbike champion Troy Bayliss and Queen of bikers rider Maria Costello MBE, Dymag revived to life with renewed vigor.

Today Dymag is supplying several British and World Superbike teams.

New Victories

The turning point came to Dymag with elaborating next generation durable, lightweight carbon composite automotive and motorcycle wheels.

In 2016, Boxstrom 7X wheels were engineered specially for selling within auto parts aftermarket. The novelty revolutionised the luxury and performance car wheel world. 7X is based on patented technologies invented by Max Boxstrom. It possesses all features of sport wheels and looks exquisite!

In 2017, the new arrival of 7Y Boxstroms take part in the showcase at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. The new wheels have the following advantages:
