Dymag wheels chosen for Cadillac prototype

Not entirely related to our motorcycle riders but news we're proud of and thought you'd like to know. Dymag has been selected by General Motors as the wheel supplier for a "best-of-breed" Cadillac STS.
"We have challenged our engineers to take the best of today's vehicle technologies and integrate them with promising future technologies to demonstrate how they will function together in a real-world driving environment," said Jim Queen, GM vice president, Global Engineering and general chairperson of the 2005 SAE World Congress.

The 2-piece carbon fiber rims are fastened to its magnesium spokes with titanium bolts. This two-piece wheel is designed to be the lightest yet strongest wheel in production, which reduces unsprung weight improving acceleration, braking efficiency, handling and fuel consumption.
The prototype was designed for the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) which is celebrating 100 years in 2005.

The Dymag Difference
Don Smith has a great write up on the difference that carbon fiber wheels can make on a high performance bike and on the excellent workmanship of Dymag wheels in general.
The beauty of Dymag wheels goes deeper than the Corvette like finish. They actually powdercoat them instead of painting which helps keep them looking new for a long time. Even after repeated removals and constant banging of the calipers and various wrenches and tire changing machines the old set on our 1999 Hayabusa stayed looking sharp, showing the durability of their finish.
and our favorite,
. . .the difference is amazing. The bike turns and handles like one that weighs 40lbs less.
