More praise from Reg

We've written about Reg Pridmore before - he's written us again with more details. Be sure to also check out his promotional video showing the cowling-eye view of a quick lap around the course - you'll find yourself leaning to the side just to compensate for the anticipated G's!

It’s been said that “experience is the best teacher” and I know there’s a lot of truth in that short statement. I like to think that my initial contact with my new good friends at Oncycles.com and Cycle Cat was purely due to my past riding and road racing success and experience back in the 70’s.

Racing experience has always led up to performance products that in some cases make even the less experienced amongst us look great and feel great about even our everyday riding. That’s exactly how it is with the Dymag Wheels and Alth brake rotors from Cycle Cat and Oncycles.com that I recently put on my two Honda RRs.

But my experience began to shine through when I first jumped on my shiny red little CBR600RR with its brand new brilliant red Dymag magnesium wheels fitted with Dunlop Qualifier® tires. Wow! How nimble can it get!? Plenty nimble. The turn in was effortless and the bike accelerate and handled beyond my wildest expectations!

Next was the special ordered orange magnesium centered with carbon fiber outer rims with a new set of Dunlop slicks fitted to my Repsol replica CBR1000RR. I thought this bike accelerated well in stock trim but I had no idea what adding these new Dymag wheels would do to the acceleration. And the handling? Well, I had a new bike! Jumping on the Repsol for some hot laps around Mid Ohio’s 15 turn smokin’ new ribbon of asphalt was more fun than I have had in a long time.

Overnight we opted to change to the Italian Alth front rotors that Oncycles had just air-freighted to us. My 1000 immediately went from two-finger to one-finger braking effort anytime I felt like it. What a difference and what a great combination with my DP-Brakes HH pads. The 600RR fell into the same category. I had never had either bike go, stop and handle so well.

It was a great experience riding both bikes. All of a sudden I realize that experience is teaching the teacher, as it has done so many times in the past. Thanks Alfred.
