German Racers prefer Dymags
I think the best way to capture our excitement over last weekend's wins in Germany is through the breathless correspondence from our distributor. Live and unfiltered, heeeere's Norbert!
This weekend the German championship went into the last two races.
Supersport World Champion Jörg Teuchert on his Yamaha R1 came 15 points ahead of the Andy Meklau with 203 points (Under pressure too, Suzuki wants the title). Third, Martin Bauer on the CBR 1000RR from Holzhauer Racing (186points) had chance to get the title too.
Race one:
Green light to get into the start positions. Bingo! The first went out and the first rain of the weekend came down. The race was not started.
First 15 min. rain practice.
Nice situation when the rain stopped. So what to do? Meklau takes rain tires so does Teuchert, Bauer and the most other riders. Well knowing that if the rain is not coming again this is wrong. The Pirelli tires are very hard and not quite as good as the Dunlops if it is raining.
First row on pole Meklau then Michael Schulten, Joerg Teuchert and Stefan Nebel on his Kawasaki.
Green light. Good start of Meklau but Jörg, with the better traction, ahead in turn one.
Not a good news for Suzuki, Meklau wants too much and tests the grass. Was this the title for Joerg? Not at this time. The race is long and during the time the harder Pirelli rain tires were more stable than the Dunlops on the more and more dry track.
Jörg loses his place and finished 11th and got 5 points.
On the podium, winner Michael Schulten teammate Werner Daemen 3rd and Martin Bauer takes the 2nd place. Now the situation is close again.
1. Teuchert (223)
2. Bauer (206)
3. Meklau (203)
Race two:
Meklau took the lead with Michael Schulten in his slip stream. Joerg with a clever race the championship in his view.
Finish.
