Daytona Bike Week 2008

IMG_2067.JPG

Five enthusiastic Aussies arrived at Daytona, in a black Hummer emblazoned with the Australian flag and blacked out windows. Talk about a kangaroo with a gold tooth. In tow was a bike built by a small specialist engineering firm from outer Melbourne here to take on the Americans in the Battle of the Twins for all comers at Daytona.

Ken and Barry Horner of HRD Engineering have not only redesigned and built three Irving Vincents to compete in the Classic Classes in Australia, they have now designed and built a 1600 CC version to comply with the American rules and won at their first attempt. Without any corporate or government help the Horner Brothers have put Australia in the media spotlight before the biggest motorcycling showcase in America.

Yes, they were riding on Dymags.
